In the VoIP Configuration dialog you define the settings for the cameras integrated SIP based IP phone functionality.
|VoIP||Use this option to either Enable or Disable VoIP completely. When you already have defined settings, these remain saved when VoIP is disabled.|
This section deals with the SIP releated data including the SIP address under which the camera can be called and information about the used SIP provider.
|Username||This is the name of the user who is reachabel by calling the camera. It corresponds with the part left of the "@" in the SIP address. For example if the SIP address of the camera is "email@example.com" then the username is "me".|
|SIP domain||The SIP domain defines the Domain where the user can be found. It is the part right of the "@" in the SIP address. If the SIP address of the camera is "firstname.lastname@example.org" then the SIP domain is "mycam.net". If the camera is used as a stand-alone SIP device without registering at some SIP registrar you are free to choose something by your own for this part of the SIP address. In this case it could be the IP of the camera or the domainname of the network it is in.|
|Registrar||This is the address of the SIP registrar for the camera to register at. If it is not empty the camera will try to register at this server. If it is empty registration is deactivated.|
|Registration Username||This is the username used to authenticate for the registration. Normaly this is the same es the username in the SIP address.|
|Registration Password||The corresponding password to the Registration Username is entered here. It is also used for proxy authentifikation.|
|Use as Outbound Proxy||If this is enabled the registrar is also used as outbound proxy. This means that all outgoing SIP connections will go through it. Normaly this is done if you register at some SIP provider. It also turns proxy authentifikation on, so that the camera will authenticate itself if the proxy asks for it.|
|Registration expires after:||The registration at the registrar will expire after this time so that callers will get a "user is not available" signal if they try to call the camera. The camera will renew the registration after this time.|
This settings are used to adapt the camera to special IP networking requirenments.
|Use NAT Address||This enables or disables the use of the NAT Address (see below).|
|NAT Address||If the camera is behind some sort of Network Address Translation device the external IP of this device can be entered here. The camera then will tell other SIP devices to send data intended for it to this address instead to the cameras real, internal address. The NAT device must redirect this data to the camera.|
|SIP-Port||This is the portnumber the camera will use to send to and receive SIP messages. The standard SIP port is 5060 and should normaly not be changed until you have some special installation where this is necessary. Note that the SIP port used by all involved SIP devices must be the same.|
|Audio RTP-Port||This ist the port used to exchange the audi data. You can change this to any legal port number. Some SIP providers or firewalls may require a specific number here. If a NAT device is used it must redirekt data on this port to the camera or you will hear no sound from the other end of the line.|
The camera accepts incoming calls using the selected codecs and tries them in the order GSM, PCMA, PCMU when making an outgoing call. If you want the camera to use one special codec deselect the others.
|Use PCMA codec||The PCMA codec uses uncompressed audio data at 8kHz and equals ISDN in sound quality. The required bandwidth including network protocol overhead is 86kBit/s (10.4kByte/s).|
|Use PCMU codec||This codec uses a slightly other coding than the PCMA but is the same in quality an used bandwidth.|
|Use GSM codec||The GSM codec copresses the audio data with a lossy compression resulting in a required bandwidth of 35kBit/s (4.2kByte/s) including network protocol overhead. The sound quality approximates that of GSM mobile phones.|
Click on the Set button to activate your settings and to save them until the camera is rebooted.
Click on the Close button to close the dialog. While closing the dialog, the system checks the entire configuration for changes. If changes are detected, you will be asked if you would like to store the entire configuration permanently.
